Check Our Availability Today!
We are now offering these individual and private trips (up to 6 pax) daily out of Haleiwa on Oahu’s North Shore. Mask, snorkel, and fins provided. You will be asked to indicate shoe size at check out. You’re also more than welcome to bring your own gear.
Try to avoid reflective masks that may get unwanted attention. Water temperatures vary from 76 – 81 degrees throughout the year which is pretty comfortable for most people doing a 15-minute cage-free dive but if you tend to get cold easily you can bring your own wetsuit top or spring suit cut.
What Kind of Marine Wildlife Can I Expect to See?
We often see Tigers, Hammerheads, Galapagos, and Sandbar sharks. Pelagic species commonly seen are different Tunas, Mahi Mahis, Flying Fish, Barracuda, Needlefish and so much more. During our winter months (December through the end of April) Humpback whales are a common site as well! This is just the pinnacle of what’s possible to see out there. It’s nothing short of amazing and we would love to show you why!
How Our Cage-Less
Shark Diving Tours Work
This two-hour adventure starts off with going over your dive gear and making sure everything fits and is comfortable. Followed by a quick safety briefing and sharing some cool features of our Coast Guard-approved RIB, Banzai! After leaving Haleiwa Small Boat harbor we will whisk you up the coast a bit before taking you offshore to our site that’s about 3 miles from land.
Along the way we will educate you more about some of the different species of sharks you can expect to see, some of the pelagic fish we may encounter, and how to behave around these mysterious creatures by adjusting your body language and positioning in their environment.
The Shark Snorkeling/Diving Experience
Once at the site, the boat is secured to our deep-water mooring, and the motors are shut off. Safety is our number one concern. We have a great boarding ladder that makes it really easy to get in and out of the water. Our staff will be in the water the whole time with you to ensure safety and help you with anything you may need to make your dive perfect!
Back on the boat, on the way in, we will go over what you saw and experienced, and maybe grab a picture or two with beautiful Mt. Ka’ala in the background. Back at the dock, there are public restrooms and an outside shower to rinse off with.
We do have a height minimum of 4’10” and you must be able to climb a vertical ladder proficiently.
